Laser/IPL Hair Removal Tips
Are you considering laser/IPL hair removal? Then you must read this before you go under the light.
For many people having hair in places where it is not wanted can be an embarrassment. The hair can be on the body or on the face, wherever it happens to be growing, these people want it gone. Temporary hair removal solutions are not what they are looking for; they want something that will produce permanent results. A laser/IPL hair removal system would suit their needs nicely, but how does it work?
Laser/IPL hair removal provides effects that are similar to electrolysis, but are much more conferrable and quicker. There are several types of laser/IPL systems that have been approved for use in hair removal, while they all work a little differently; the premise is the same for all of them, by removing the hair at the follicle. The laser/IPL kills the follicle by delivering very intense heat energy to it.
One of the reasons that lasers and IPLs are becoming so popular is that this system is a relatively painless form of hair removal, especially when compared to the more traditional forms of body hair removal. The laser/IPL hair removal system also provides excellent outcomes in the face, underarm area and neck, resulting in a 60-80% success rate within two to three visits.
Many people prefer laser/IPL Hair Removal because they see dramatic results from having it done. Results such as a 50% reduction in hair after only one treatment. Most people also like the fact that when the hair grows back, it is usually sparser and of a finer texture. Although many of individuals have had permanent removal of all the hair, some individuals only achieved a permanent hair reduction of approximately 70%. No laser/IPL hair removal facility should ever promises future client permanent removal of all hair. The reason is that everyone’s hair follicles respond to treatment in a unique way.
The first approved laser system was the Nd:YAG, which required the skin to be waxed first to remove the unwanted hair and therefore, causing the follicles to open. This is necessary for the laser to reach the follicles, next a light absorbing, carbon based lotion need to be applied to the skin. The laser heats the lotion that has reached the hair follicles, which causes damage to the follicle, but leaves the skin undamaged.
While the Nd:YAG method is still in use, there are newer, less time-consuming laser/IPL hair removal methods available. These methods uses pulses rather than a continuous laser light beam to warm up the follicles. The newer methods also remove the need for waxing of the skin as well as for the application of the carbon-based lotion. The use of the pulse allows the follicle to be heated more quickly while exposing the skin to lesser amounts of damaging heat.
While laser hair removal treatments offer great results that last, it is fairly expensive, especially when compared to hair removal methods that need to be done on a more frequent basis. For example, to remove facial hair, the series of treatments that would be needed will cost approximately $1,000, depending upon where you live. More involved procedures, such as back or legs will be around $5,000 for the series of treatments. However, many patients see this as an investment that in the long run will save them time, pain and money.

Face Hair Removal Products is there any good brands I can buy?

Laser Hair Removal Newbie: I need to learn the basics! Do you recommend Laser/IPL? Why or why not?
It’s really embarrassing, but I’ve had these little unsightly hairs on my chin for awhile. I noticed one or two coming in when I was about 15, and ever since then more and more have been coming in. I keep tweezing and trimming them in an attempt to keep them under control, but now it seems no matter how many I get, there are four more I missed! I don’t have hours a day to spend on keeping myself from looking like a bearded lady.
Now, to make matters worse, my skin recently became sensitive to most products (including perfume, fancy soaps, etc). I’ve become pretty much allergic to Nair (it gives me an exzema-like rash) and I’m starting to break out from constant tweezing and touching that it takes to rid myself of all these hairs. I haven’t had breakouts since my sophomore year, and now my chin is a mess! I’m sick of it, and so I’m considering Laser Hair Removal or IPL.
I am a very fair-skinned female, and my natural hair color is brunette. The hairs that give me so much grief are thick and dark- they look black on my skin, but may actually be dark brown (it’s hard to tell). I do have some light blonde hairs on my face, but I don’t care about them since they’re pretty much invisible! I’d be looking to have my chin and the underside of my neck done. Since I’m going to college (and would like to have Laser or IPL done at home, over breaks or something), I want to know how many treatments your AVERAGE facial hair removal takes- (i.e.how many treatments over how long?) – and how much the average chin hair removal treatment is going to run me- an example of how much yours cost (and the state you’re from, so I can keep the price in perspective) would be really helpful!
I’ve done some research so far, but I’d like to know if people have had good experiences with it, and if they recommend it to somebody like me. I’d like to hear some opinions and even some tips, and I’d like some general information. I want to do some more research before I decide to do it, so any help you have to offer would be greatly appreciated!
Lastly, I’d be happy to get some tips or pointer on what to look for when selecting a hair removal specialist!
Thanks so much!
I had my neck done and my wife had her bikini area and underarms. For the chin area the cost will be between $50 and $200 per treatment depending on the size of the area and you will need 4-6 treatments.
The most important thing to do is to find a good specialist to make sure you get great results. The attached sites have more information and they have rated hair removal providers.
